Today we will read Chapter 13 of Things Fall Apart, and that will finish Part I of the novel. We will begin an in-class, open-packet test on Part I. You do not need to "study" for this test--just be sure that you are up to date with the reading, especially if you have been absent for any part of it. We will not finish the test today, so we will continue it on Friday in class.

English homework:
On Friday, September 25, we will take a Vocabulary Test on List 12 and the review stems from List 11. The review stems are on a small sheet, and they should be taped to List 12. Don't forget to make flash cards!
We are currently reading in the novel Things Fall Apart. There is nightly homework on the Guided Reading Questions packet. Students should finish the assigned part at home if they do not finish in class.

To plan for the next week:
1. We will have a vocabulary test on List 11 either Monday or Tuesday. I will let you know which day it will be. You can begin making flash cards for extra credit.
2. If you made a 1 or a 2 on any box or boxes of the common assessment for "Hero of the 'Hood," then you need to plan one SMART Lunch visit to my room to revise the boxes in question. The only day that my room will be closed is the second half of lunch on Friday. The revisions have to be completed by the end of SMART Lunch on Tuesday, September 15.
